DisciplineBranding
Meaghan Ogilvy is a photographer who has traditionally been focused on fine art photography, but over time the pull towards commercial photography has provided a new and interesting creative challenge. With a continued focus on water and the interplay between water as the subject matter or the backdrop for an interaction, Meaghan has always managed to find intriguing ways to show beauty but also create a platform from which to speak about conservation and the immense value of nature. Creating powerfully unique, yet strong and sensual compositions are c what sets her apart and was something we tried to harness as we developed the brand identity.
Creating brands for creative enterprises is always difficult. It requires a fine balance between the unique characteristics of the creative output and the personality of the brand delivering it. For Meaghan, the mark is strong, but fluid. Similar to her photographic approach it offers us a sense of floating to the top within any piece. The introduction of a bold letterform as an icon, allows itself to be both loud and yet unobtrusive, sliding itself into communications. Rather than take away from the creative, it complements and creates an ownable quality. This is amplified with a monochromatic colour pallet and fine finishes that add to the experience.
