Panettone, not Pantone

It’s almost here — one of our most favourite times of the year. Specifically, the two months following Halloween and leading up to the winter holidays, where it’s perfectly acceptable to eat panettone for breakfast. And, if this is something you feel you will likely participate in, we (highly) recommend that you get yourself Lindt’s Panettone.

If you’re not familiar with panettone, let us learn ya a little bit on this delicious cake (that is acceptable to be eaten as breakfast). Traditionally, panettone is a sweet Italian bread from the Milan area of Northern Italy. It usually has a dome-like shape but that can vary depending on the region. The process to make it is, well… it’s something else. The proofing process alone takes several days, which is one of the many reasons to buy it. Who’s got that kind of time to make it for themselves!?

Its citrus notes are what give panettone its unique flavour profile, and it often features dried fruit (a polarizing topic) within. In an effort reach a wider target of consumers (and just because) why not create a variation of the traditional panettone that features the delicious chocolatey goodness of the world’s best chocolate maker? Obviously, this is a great idea, but you shouldn’t take our word for it. Go get em, before they’re gone.

We’ve collaborated with the Lindt team on a number of projects in the past, but given that panettone was a brand new product that could set the groundwork for its rollout globally, it was an especially exciting challenge. Much of the Lindt brand is well defined, but its application to their panettone product packaging required some original thinking. As the only baked product Lindt offers in many countries, we had to define a new brand architecture as well as create some new identity elements to bring this product to life.

In short, Lindt’s Panettone is delicious and you should buy it for yourself and for others. It’s the perfect treat this time of year. You can start here or here.
