Welcome to 2019
As much as we’re excited to see what’s in store for 2019, we’re not quite ready to turn the page on 2018 without a tiny bit of reflection. For Art & Mechanical, 2018 was a year of milestones. The most important was our fifth anniversary. Five years is a critical milestone for any business, and that is not lost on us. We have built a great team, that is doing great work for great people, which is why we started A&M in the first place.
To celebrate, we’ve evolved the A&M brand identity and completely recreated our web experience to better reflect who we have become, and to showcase the work we’re most proud of. One feature case is the completion of one of the most challenging and complex branding projects we’ve ever taken on; the strategic rebranding of Moosehead Breweries, Moosehead Lager and family products, as well as the creation of Moosehead Small Batch Brewery. This is certainly not a single case, though it started with a single vision for one of Canada’s most iconic brands and most important family-run companies in continuous operation since 1867.
We also had incredible experiences with new clients such as Lindt Canada, The Lipsey Architecture Center of Buffalo, Alcon, MyLite and many more that you’ll see posted throughout the year. We’d also like to welcome all the new opportunities that are kicking off 2019 with a bang and include such partners as Campari Group Canada, Betterez, Northbridge Investment Management and The Pine Project.
Regardless of product or category, we certainly feel positive about the number of people starting to recognize the value of design and working with design-focused studios to build brands with long-term vision. The waters can get very muddy on this topic, and we hope to provide a lot more industry perspective in 2019. Consider it a resolution of ours to be more vocal on design, the industry, our craft and many other topics that are critical to the evolution of creativity and creative business in Canada. We’ve added a section to our website for this very reason, and we hope you’ll follow along throughout the year to see new work and discuss new ideas and perspectives.
